Sorta - I'd nuance the point like the nerd I am though I agree with it overall.

Everquest absolutely has a Monk and has since day 1, and it's the classic 1E-style Monk (but better), because Everquest was "heavily inspired" by D&D.
Guild Wars 1 had a "Monk", but they were absolutely not primarily a martial artist. The D&D equivalent would be a divine caster (you note the Pathfinder Oracle - it's not dissimilar) - the vast majority of what they did was cast glowy divine spells, mostly heals and buffs. Also it's not an MMO, let alone a major MMO - it's a multiplayer ARPG which peaked in like, 2008 (it was absolutely a 10/10 banger of a game, but largely forgotten). Also GW1-style Monks ruled, with their magic tattoo armour and amazing buffs.
Guild Wars 2, which is/was (I'd go with was) a major MMO does not have a Monk or anything called that nor conceptually similar. Closest is the heavily armoured and armed Cleric/Paladin-like Guardian.
WoW has a Monk because their original concept for an unarmed combatant was too similar to how they'd already done Death Knights (in that it was rune-powered), so fell back to using a Monk. It's not quite a classic D&D Monk, it's like 30 degrees off, especially as it has a popular (usually) healing spec which spams magic heals and buffs everywhere.
FFXIV has a somewhat 1E-like Monk from the same origin-point as EQ, but with a different evolution. It started as 1E-inspired but then went via being a class in various FF games and because of that is a lot more DPS-y than the EQ Monk.
Looking at other some what significant examples (several bigger than EQ or GW1/2 nowadays):

The Elder Scrolls Online - No Monk, but they only have six classes and they're strongly Elder Scrolls-themed.
Diablo 3 - Has a Monk of somewhat D&D-ish kind.
Lost Ark - The Monk-like class is called Martial Artist instead and has no Monk-related theme-ing.
Black Desert - Has a Monk-like class BUT they're called the Mystic! The only hard reverse-example I can find though.
Path of Exile - No Monk or Monk-like characters, primarily because you need a special item to do "unarmed" combat.
Genshin Impact - Has some Monk-like characters, but they're definitely NOT Monks by profession, they're martial artists.
I'd say your point was definitely proven re: using the name Monk over Mystic. And yes people increasingly see it as not a "Monk" in the sense of some sort of ascetic mystical type, but a martial artist who just happens to be called a Monk. Unfortunately in 5E, D&D reverted to Monks being burdened by a whole bunch of "lives up a mountain in a monastery"-type baggage, rather than going with the flow and having Monk be "just a name". This was part of 5E's whole "apology edition" vibe where it unnecessarily reverted all sorts of stuff to 1E-like tropes (some of which caused havoc later).
