Crippled PCs or playing characters with major handicaps?

Okey, so we have played blind kobolds, and perhaps a deaf or one legged PC. And we handled it quite well (Most of us).

The new question is, have anyone of you played a PC with a *serious* handicap (and yes, blindness is indeed very serious, but can be corrected easly with low level magics), like a character without arms? legs? Only one arm and one leg? Really really old, immobile PC that cannot move without wheelchair? If so, tell me!

Oh what the heck, give me some blind- and deafness stories too will you? :)

I once used a ogre-mage psion with an Int of something like 44 with no legs or arms and a wormlike body. Of course the psionics made up for his disabilities

and is blindness isn't serious then a character in a wheelchair isn't a serious disability by your standards either. My father is Tetraplegic but has use of one arm and is in a wheel chair and quite mobile and capable otherwise

and if I recall their is more than one Comic 'superhero' who is wheelchair bound...
