Creation time for Dwarven Mithral Full Plate Armor

First Post
I am trying to have a suit of Dwarven Plate +1 (DMG pg 182) made for my character. When my DM and I sat down to figure out how long it would take to create, we came up with a time of 2 3/4 years! This is how we figured it out:

Dwarven Plate +1 = 11,500 gp (10,500 gp for armor + 1,000 gp for +1 enhancement)
Convert Price to SP (as per Craft skill rules in PHB) = 115,000 sp
DC = 20 to create the armor
Master Armorsmith has an average Craft (Armorsmith) roll of 40 (this number was given to me by my DM - I don't know how he got it.)
40 x 20 = 800 sp per week that he creates towards armor.
115,000 sp divided by 800 sp per week = 144 weeks (rounded up from 143.76)

My questions to the good folks on the boards are these:

1 - does this equation sound right? Have we done something wrong in the calculation?

2 - Is there anyway to get this armor faster? My DM has toyed with the idea of using the FABRICATE spell (from the PHB) to create this, but is not sure if it is a) POSSIBLE and / or b) that I would be able to find a wizard/sorcerer of high enough level with the appropriate amount of ranks in armorsmithing.

I know that in the end, my DM has final say on the matter (and I have kind of resigned myself to the fact that it will be a LONG, LONG TIME before I see this armor), but he asked me to put this question on the boards to see what the responses are. He is also willing to consider any answers that make sense to him.

Thanks in advance for any and all answers to this question!

Looking in the books is good. Looking in the right topic is better.
Feat: Craft Magic Arms and Armor (PHB, pg. 81)
Creating Magic Items (DMG, pg. 241)
Creating Armor (DMG, pg. 243)
Special Materials (DMG, pg. 242)

Basically, the creation of a (non-magical) Dwarven Plate follows the Craft skill rules. It takes as long as crafting a masterwork full plate, but costs as (standard full plate plus 9,000 gp), according to DMG pg. 242.

Now, you or another character with the Craft Magic Arms and Armor feat can enchant this armor to +1 Dwarven Plate (Base price 1,000 gp). It would cost 500 gp (1,000/2) and 40 XP (1,000/25). It takes one day (1,000/1,000 per day; round up).

The market price is 11,500 gp (10,500 + 1,000 gp). If you buy it, you pay the market price. If you sell it, you get half of the market price.

Fabricate

My group looked into this matter as we play in a very low magic item setting. Well actually its not the setting its the dm, He's just plain mean. "damn another +1 medium shield"

Yes Fabricate will work.
our ruling is 1 fabricate spell but 2 rolls, one to make the item the other to make it master work.

just have a big pile of stuff handy and try try again.

15th (almost 16th) level, and still have mostly +1 items. I like to bug him constantly about that. :p
