D&D 5E Conquest Paladin + DragonBorn Fear Feat

So the Oath of Conquest paladin gets a nice 30ft radius fear effect that lasts for a minute (monsters do get repeated saves).

The DragonBorn racial feat gives them a 30ft radius feat effect that lasts for a minute (monsters only get more than 1 save if attacked etc).

Both of these recharge on a short rest. It seems to me that being able to cause fear to a large number of enemies in the battle is very useful.

How useful would being able to use abilities like these almost every combat encounter be?

I play a LN Dragonborn Conquest Paladin. We're playing Curse of Strahd and our cleric and I got cornered by six vampire spawn (at level 3) so... basically a death sentence. Then I did Conquering Presence and they all failed. Only one Vamp Spawn was close enough to attack us directly so the cleric moved behind me and since they couldn't move closer to me, it bought enough time for the rest of the group to arrive, mount a defense, get the objective, and get out. The only reason we took damage was because 1-2 of the VampSpawn made their save every round and they slowly started peeling off against us, but by then it was 6 pcs v 3-4 unfeared vamps and 2-3 feared.

I definitely picked up the feat, especially since it could give me 18 STR as well.
