Level Up (A5E) Combat Directives and Legion Stance

Stalker0

Legend
Based on the wording on combat directives, is there any reason a Marshall couldn't just direct each of its fellows to "make an attack", and then instantly gain the Legion's stance?

Meaning I could have a small squad of melee fighters, where every crit basically triggers like 3-4 Opportunity attacks (only once per round, but still...that seems pretty darn strong)

It could work but would need quite some time to setup.
As I'm understandig it, in order to give an ally the use of Legion's Stance the marshall needs to use Commanding presence, which requires him to sacrifice an attack from his normal attack action. So he could give Legion's stance to only 1 or 2 allies per round.

BTW: As I'm reading Legion's stance I'm finding that it could be devastating on a crit-fishing berserker build!

EDIT: On second thought the Legion's stance activation through Combat directives may not be possible RAW, as it specifically says that the ally may use a Sanguine Knot combat maneuver as part of the attack gained by Commanding Presence. Legion's stance does not ride attacks, so it may not work.

It doesn’t say that though. It says:

“In addition, when a creature uses your Commanding Presence to make an attack, it can simultaneously use one Sanguine Knot combat maneuver that you know.”

“Simultaneously” is the key word here, and it only means “at the same time.”

There is also nothing raw that prevents a player from doing an attack action out of combat and giving all of their people legions stance at the beginning of the day
