Wow, I had no clue they were remaking this. Should certainly be interesting.

Neither did I. I have fond memories of watching the original when I was little. I'm curious to see how this will turn out.

Thinking if that movie makes me want to create an artificer with my own Bubo.

This strikes me as an example of a "remake that should not be done." It's not like the original story was, on it's own, all that good, or based on a classic. It was a mashup of a variety of different Greek myths coupled with classic stop-motion animation. A new version will almost of necessity be a DIFFERENT mashup of mythologies, using CGI that we've all seen before.

I'm skeptical.

Why not? With modern techniques the movie could be pretty cool.

Even though the Ray Harryhausen one is a real classic.

Exactly. People can cut the original apart by today's standards, but I have very fond memories of watching it as a kid. I hope the remake will inspire such fond memories as well.
