D&D 5E Check Out Joy Ang's Alternate Covers for the D&D Gift Set

Next week's Dungeons & Dragons Rules Expansion Gift Set comes in at $169.99 and also includes a slipcase and a DM Screen. In addition to the standard version (featuring Grzegorz Rutkowski’s art on Modenkainen Presents Monsters of the Multiverse) there will be versions with alternate cover art as a hobby store exclusive with art from Joy Ang.

I usually love the alternate covers.

These are ... underwhelming. I don't like the font. The white/silver makes me think of Hummel figurines, for some reason, and the art is uninspired- especially the Tasha's, where it seems like the artist thought, "Oh, I'll do a Halloween witch. That's cool, right?"

I like the simplistic style. But I was also in love with the “leather bound” 3.5 books

I like the white and gold motif and the clean design. The pictures are too "cartoony" for my tastes. If not done right Beholders just look goofy not terrifying and as the other commenter said Tasha looks like a Halloween decoration witch. The Kirin was is the best of the bunch.

I really don't like all the white on the covers. How long will they stay white when being manipulated during a game while you're eating cheetos?

The alernate covers allow WotC to take risks with designs that differ radically from the more typical style used in 5e books, which I really appreciate. I really like the Hydro74 covers. While I'm not crazy about these covers, I appreciate them trying something new.

I'm sure they look better in person, but I'm happy with the covers I do have.
