Casting Locate Object on an item in a Bag of Holding

A couple questions occured to me recently and I'd like opinions (or, in the case of those with knowledge, I'd like information).

1) Does a locate object spell penetrate extradimensional spaces? That is, if I have a sword in a bag of holding and someone casts locate object to try to find the sword, and the bag is within the effective area of that spell, will the caster be directed toward the bag?

2) If yes to question 1 (or some variant other than a categorical 'no'), then couldn't a bag of holding be made with a nondetection effect (obscure object, nondetection, etc.) on it such that it hides its contents from divination spells?

given that the bag is only a doorway into a extradimentional space i would say it dont need a nondetection effect as the detection spell only detects objects in the samedimention as thecaster (unless it specificly states that its able to locate stuff on the 305 level of abbys or something)...
