Can Earth elementals pull you into the ground?

Okay since an earth elemental can move through the earth like a fish trhough water, would he be able to grapple a person and pull them down into the earth with them?

I'm thinking you would have to make strength checks to drag someone down?

um - the elemental can move thru it - yeah - but YOU can't.

Incorpreal creatures can't pull people thru walls.

I don't know, but when I'm UNDER a 8000 lbs large earth elemental I feel pretty much into the earth!

Maybe if it had the PC in some type of bear hug?

In the Rokungan (sp?) monster book there is an earth elemental that can do exactly that: pull people under. It is quite a lethal ability.
