Can a Phantom Steed wear horseshoes?

As per the title - can a phantom steed (Brd3, Sor/Wiz 3) have horseshoes (in particular, magical horseshoes like horseshoes of the zephyr) affixed?

And if so, does anyone have any RL experience - how long would it take a moderately skilled person to shoe a horse?

The hooves of the Phanton stead are insubstatial so I would say no. that being said the horseshoes of the zephyr make the horse float 4" above the ground the phantom stead pretty much does that already.

If you really want to do this, just cast Mount and spend the time shoeing the horse. Inceidentally what kind of a skill check would that be to shoe a horse?

Shoeing a Phantom Steed takes 1 hour/level.

Shoeing a Mount takes 2 hours/level. They're more obstreperous.

The hooves aren't incorporeal - they're insubstantial.

It's the same word they use to describe Gaseous Form.

Ghost Touch Nails wouldn't do it, but Force Nails might.
