Campaign Planner Deluxe

Any DMs around here who use Campaign Planner Deluxe, or CP 1, 2 or 3 (especially in pdf) ?

How useful is it / are they, longterm? Approximately what percentage sees regular use? Infrequent use? And so on.

It might be just the kind of thing I've been looking for, but some 'real-world' accounts would help greatly.

If you are looking to use the Campaign Planners in PDF I highly recommend buying the singles -- the Deluxe is intended for print and isn't as useful as the PDF versions.

The price is exactly the same either way you choose to go.

Hopefully some people will be along later to answer your specific questions (since it's not quite appropriate for me to tell you what a great product it is :) ).

I'm working up a review of the Campaign Planner Deluxe right now. I hope to have it posted this weekend.

I use all three the Campaign Planners in pdf. There is a huge range of forms in the three books so not everything has been used yet. There are exisitng reviews up of the earlier plannars 2 & 3 for sure.

Are they longterm?

Some are definitely long term focusing on major details of a campaign or the organization of a arc of adventure. Others are more handle for keeping track of what happened tonight.

Approximately what percentage see regular use? Infrequent Use?

That is really a personal thing. In my game the XP/Sesssion History is always used. The sheets on Planar gates and Planes almost everyweek but we run a planar game. In the review I'm going to list all the forms, what they are and comment on some that are used over and over again.

I picked it (CPD) up a couple of days ago. So far my opinion is ... mixed. The forms are pretty good, but the organization is terrible. I haven't seen CP 1, 2, or 3 but I suspect that they were just all added together, one after another into one document (I suspect this because there is a duplicate form in there - I believe it's the Session notes (pg 8 & 32 maybe?) I'm at work and can't check it now). There are no bookmarks (a major failure in my eyes) and similar things are spread out all over the file making it tricky to quickly find the appropriate form. It would have been much better if it had been organized into sections (Campaign Forms / House Rules / etc) and bookmarked.

It's a pretty even mix of long/shortterm forms. There are definately things I will use, but in hindsight I wouldn't have spent $15.00 on this. At about half the price it'd be a good deal though.
