D&D General Build your dream team from legendary dnd parties

Just something fun.

Make a dnd tean of 4-6 characters that would be both effective and fun to watch interact.

Stipulations:
1. only one per party.
2. No eliminister level party members. not fun and kinda boring,
3. make sure to list where you got the character from and why.
4. it's always a good idea to list species and class just in case somebody is not familiar with the source

Examples include, but are not limited to
1. the dnd cartoon team
2. Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves team
3. The icewind dale trilogy crew
4. the dragonlance team.
5. The Baldur's Gate 3 Team (no tav, but everybody else is on the table).

I'm looking forward to see what people come up with. :)

Welllll, I mean, how many of those "legendary teams" (who aren't the DMPC Elminsters and Khelbens and such) are there?

I mean, I wouldn't take anyone from the cartoon. They were all (except Diana) inept individuals with no class-related skill, just magic items. Drawing from some "classic" source parties... trying to diversify for maximum effectivness(?).... I'm going to saaaayyy... hm...

1. Elwita - dwarf (female)/Fighter, from the Slavelord series modules and the only female dwarf to appear in basically any D&D product (pre-5e). Certainly the only named, statted, and pictured (thank you Jeff Dee) one.
2. Gilthanas - high elf (male)/Fighter-Mage, from Dragonlance. (mostly because a "classic" party needs an elfin fighter/magic-user and the options are him or Peralay (a.k.a. "Melf") from LJN.
3. Mercion - human (female)/Cleric, from the original LJN toy/merchandizing line, recently revived in the "Wild beyond the Witchlight" adventure, and subsequent 5.24e PHB.
4. Keyleth - high(?) elf (female)/Druid, from Critical Role.
5. Celedon Kiernay - half-elf (male)/Mage-Thief(Acrobat), from the Bloodstone module series.
6. Unnamed Pre-gen #3 - Human (let's say they are a male)/Paladin, from the original Tomb of Horrors list of pre-gen characters... We could call 'im "Unnam Edpregen the Third." ;)

hmmm...Yeah. They should do alright with saving the world and such.

Minsc and Boo, Human Ranger and Space Hamster, Baldurs Gate: Primary tank and chaotic “butt-kicking for goodness!”, keeps the party on their toes. Comedic releif

Jarlaxle, Elf, Swashbuckler, Dragonheist: Charming and witty rogue, willing to take risk, he will pair well with the unpredictable Minsc and annoy the rest.

Bruenor Battlehammer, Dwarf, Defender, Baldurs Gate: grumpy but loyal and able to hold things together against overwhelming odds. His interactions with Minsc and Jarlaxle should be tense and hillarious but he remains a key anchor for the party as a whole.

Xenk Yendar, Human, Paladin of Cool, Honour Among Thieves: Dedicated, serious, charismatic and inspiring. While his seriousness could annoy Jarlaxle and Minsc, he should work well with Laeral and Bruenor and is a good support class who will facilitate everyone in Being better

Laeral Silverhand, Human, Wizard, Dragonheist: Organised and responsible leader, providing magical support and working to keep the party focused on their goals.

okay my turn

Dragonbait (Finhead Saurial Paladin - Finder's stone trilogy and cameo artist): one of the biggest failures of the forgotten realms after 2e is sticking their fingers in their ears and go "la, la, la" when it comes to Saurials to the point where after I wrote the Saurials of the lost vale, they specifically wrote in Tomb of Annihilation that "there are no saurials in the realms". Dragonbait is awesome, Dinosaurs are awesome, Palladin's are awesome so neener, neener, Dragonbait is in my party.

Astarion (Vampire Spawn/Elf Rogue: Baldur's Gate 3): There are few legendary rogues there are in dungeons and dragons, so going with the ethically challenged vampire rogue that can actually become a better person. It will be interesting to see his interactions with Dragonbait.

Bidderdoo Harpell (human wizard/werewolf, drizzits trilogy): A goofy wizard that's relatively low level that turns into a dog. What's not to like?

Branwen (cleric of tempest - Baldur's gate 1)
Man these are worse then finding legendary rogues. Not in the mood for Cadderly, and already picked my choice from baldur's gate 3 (sorry Shadowheart fans).

I went with Branwen because she's not a woobie and kicks butt, while apparently being incredibly attractive causing all sorts of shenanigans as only a chaotic neutral cleric of tempest can.

Angus Mcguiness (Minotaur Bard: Angus' guide to Amn): A lovable Minotaur Bard that ends up in one misadventure after another. Monstrous, but friendly and the guy most likely to keep the party together.

Eric (Human Fighter/Cavalier: Forgotten realms cartoon): I like Eric. He's the only character with the guts to try to figure out a way around the shenanigans that the dungeon master puts them through. Plus he actually went through character development over the series. He has the potential to be a fine knight of the realm, he just needs a mentor: A scaley, mentor. :D

ones that came close
Arilyn moonblade (Elaine Cunningham Novels)
Drizzit (besides a name, I'm a sucker for a big kitty)

One last question
Are there any named 4e warlords that were in the novels? I would seriously consider putting one in my party out of spite if there is.

Same with Druids.
