Brown Mold and fire

"Fire brought within 10' of brown mold causes it to instantly double in size."
What are some of the effects of this growth? Does the mold then deliver twice its stated damage to an adjacent creature (twice 3d6)? Does the chilly effect radius extend another 30' radius?
I also assume the growth is fully exponential. A torch brought near one square of BM Makes it now 2 squares in size, in the second round it is 4 squares in size (because both squares are within 5' of the flame), then the third round it is 8 squares large, fourth round is 16 squares, etc.?

Only if the fire is within 10', so eventually the mold would get out of range. As far as size goes, you would just get two patches of brown mold. treat it like one orc turning into two. If you are in range of both patches, you would get double the damage. The radius would not extend.

I don't like brown mold mechanically. Drop one patch in the middle of a forest fire, and you could bring on an ice age. Port one into the elemenal plane of fire, and you have a grey goo scenario.
