Body outside body

Body outside body is a spell for Wu Jen class. But, reading it I thought: what a crap spell!!! Your copies lose all spells and the ability to active magic completion or spell trigger items. All your equipment is converted to the mundane form for your copies, your copies have a quarter of your Hp and this spell only last for 1 minute. That means if you cast this spell you would end up with an army of 1/4 hp (based in your d4 HD), poor attack base, low AC (probably 10+dex modifier), that will hurt you 10 hit points if it dies (that can be easily accomplished around lv 13, when you could cast the spell). You, obviously, not use this spell for combat. You can't use it for slain someone while your copy appears in public as an alibi, because it only last for 1 minute.

But the idea of clones is very tasty, I could not let it pass... So I thought about a build that uses class abilities to make this spell shine. Then I made a Wu Jen 5/Incantatrix 10/whatever. So the fun starts: improved metamagic reduces the required increase of every metamagic feat; some clones use cooperative metamagic with reduced CD (due to improved metamagic); some use seize conjuration, snatch spell... the rest uses aid another to make sure your cooperative clones can make the Spellcraft check. That would be the metamagic master character. With chain spell you could buff every clone. With persist and a lot of clones aiding, you could cast all your persistable buffs without run out of your high level spells.

Does anyone know other smart use of the spell body outside body?

Or you can go with the options listed here, which really gets to some silliness.

They can't use magic items, but if psionics/magic transparency does not exist in your campaign, or you utilize Maneuvers, etc. you get some really odd things going... You can also create a pretty interesting build using your temp clones as Teamworkers... ;).

Slainte,

Wow, I liked the idea of a wu jen with sacred exorcist to use BoB, make his copies to use devotion feats like crazy! The trickery devotion feat should be fun =P
