Boardroom Games in Indianapolis is closing!!

I just found out that Boardroom Games, the FLGS in Indianapolis, will be closing in June!
:( The owner has been a friend of mine for 15+ years, although I haven't been able to see him much lately due to my schedule. I'm sad to see the store go - I was planning on buying games for my daughter there, as well as my RPG supplies. Seems he's just losing too much money to Amazon.

The locals here don't even call it Boardroom anymore, we just call it Gerry's - but whatever you call it, the store will be greatly missed. :(

Wow... I can still remember getting my first D&D materials there as a kid... Although I moved away 12 years ago, I brought my wife to Indy several years ago and introduced her to the wonders of Boardroom Games. It's changed a lot throughout the years, but it'll always have a special place in my heart....

I'm sorry to see it go. :(

That stinks. I used to go to Boardroom Games a lot when I lived in Indy 15 years ago. That and one other place (can't recall the name offhand; there was the Boardroom and one in the Glendale Mall). And then I'd go to the comic shop down the street there on Broad Ripple. Good times.

That's too bad. I stopped there a couple times each year while visiting my sister (and during Gen Con). My niece picked out her first pack of D&D mini's there.

I'm sorry to see the place close, but I can't say that I'm suprised. Between the owner's age, the increases in rent, and the near-total lack of advertisement or promotions, it was only a matter of time before the Boardroom closed.

(PS - Castellan, please drop me an email sometime! I'd like to reconnect with you.)
