Black Blade of Disaster an Mordenkainen’s Sword

If a wizard of 17 level's casts one of the two spells:
Mordenkainen’s Sword (PHB)
Black Blade of Disaster (magic of faerun)

the wizard creates a sword that attack with the BAB of the wizard but I could not understand if the sword makes one or two attacks because the BAB of the wizard alows two attacks and the spell just say that makes one attack,,,,

In the spell Spiritual Weapon, the book describe that the weapon makes attacks with the casters BAB and can make more them one attack,,,

One or more attacks????

Don't have the book with me so I can't be of much use, but I can tell you what I think of black blade.

I think that it is underpowered for a 9th level spell as is. Came as a big shock to a PC of mine that fondly remembered it from 2e.
