D&D 5E Best guide for running Tyranny of Dragons?

Hello,

I'm going to be running Hoard of the Dragon Queen and Rise of Tiamat for my group in a long-term campaign. I've looking at a lot of guides and I've read a lot of reviews to prepare, but I wonder if there's a definitive guide (a blog, a thread, something at DMs Guild, whatever) that is recognized as the best.

I want this to be a good experience for the group, but I demanding job gives me limited time to prepare (which is why I'm running a published campaign in the first place). I also realize that Tyranny of Dragons suffers from some nontrivial issues due to it being developed before 5E was finalized. Lastly, I've found that various guides give good suggestions for foreshadowing, RPing NPCs, etc. to cover the rough spots.

So... is there a single "best" guide to running Tyranny of Dragons? I would very much appreciate any advice!

Thanks!

You want Power Score's Guide to Tyranny of Dragons - free at the blog but a nice compilation on DMsGuild. Combine with Sly Flourish's advice as recommended above and you're on your way.

I won't claim that mine is the best, but I will nevertheless share with you some links:

My Tyranny of Dragons: An ENWorld thread detailing the amendments I made to Hoard of the Dragon Queen. (Note: I never got around to posting my notes for The Rise of Tiamat.)

A Hoard to Remember: A recap blog detailing my group's run-through of the Tyranny of Dragons campaign.

You should also check out The Alexandrian blog. He reviews plot holes, missing things, and in some cases rebuilds the adventures for ease of running. Lots of people like his work.
