Battleship Card Game

Does anyone have any experience with the Battleship Card Game? I'm guessing it's rather simple, but can anyone shed any light on its mechanics and what they think of it?

Yes I do. Bought it for my 5 year old at the time.

The card board games are quick and easy versions of the full board games and sometimes they take a slightly boring board game for adults and make it age accessible.

The battleships game is just this. The essence of Battleships is there without the endless random pinging until you hit something.

You have a limited field of 9 (or 12) positions where ships can hide. Each ship as a special ability which is activated when it is revealed. This ability can range from hand size to healing.

When revealed the ship can then be sunk by playing missile cards. There are special cards that let you draw extra cards, heal wounded ships, etc.

The special abilities speed the game up a fair amount and this you can play 3 or 4 rounds quickly in an hour.

I bought a whole series of these card games for $10 AUD each but I have seen them for $5 AUD as well.

Other games I would recommend are: Life, Monopoly, Angry Birds.

Hope that helps.

Awesome, thank you. I have the Monopoly Deal card game and while it's simple, I also found it fun and quick. It sounds like I'll need to pick up the Battleship game too.
