Heretic of The Seventh Circle
A lot of my Artificer-style character concepts are pretty rogueish, and I’ve been wondering if anyone has seen any 3pp rogue archetypes that use mechanics similar to the official Artificer?
yeah a bit. I guess I could take the arcane trickster and replace mage hand with an infusion, and use the artificer spell list, go from there. You kind of looking for the Artificial Trickster?
I’m not sure what you mean, other than maybe dealing with traps? An artificer can do most of what a rogue can (apart from sneak attack), just at slightly higher level. They are fine for filling a party "rogue slot".
Yeah. I'm coming from 1st edition, so I tend to see the main reason for bringing a rogue along is to deal with traps and open locks.yeah a bit. I guess I could take the arcane trickster and replace mage hand with an infusion, and use the artificer spell list, go from there.

Thw two are definitely distinct.
Yeah, the rogue is...much more than that. And my group rarely uses anything like a dungeon.Yeah. I'm coming from 1st edition, so I tend to see the main reason for bringing a rogue along is to deal with traps and open locks.
It seems the fastest way to homebrew it. Add invocation at 13 and grant option of any new cantrip to be an Invocation instead, replacing the Mage Hand subclass features.yeah a bit.
