Armor Enhancements on Bracers of Armor

I seem to remember reading somewhere that it's legal to add armor special abilities (Glamered, Light Fortification, Slick, etc.) to Bracers of Armor, but I can't seem to locate it in the SRD. So please help me - am I brain damaged because I remember something that isn't so, or because I can't find something that's obviously and explicitly spelled out?

As they appear in the DMG, such abilities are only added to armor (or shields).

However, the Arms and Equipment Guide included rules for adding them to Bracers. It depends if your DM is including this book in his game.

Bracers of armor look less and less attractive to me as time goes by, what with the existence of twilight mithral chain shirts & extended greater mage armor.

Not really, it is the same cost one would have if cloths could be enhanced as armor. +4 bracers of armor cost the same as a +4 suit of armor. heck, it is a cost saver since unless the DM twists the wording and goes against the text, that AC is from planes of force, granting the AC against incoporeal touch atatcks. effectivly granting the +3 Ghost Touch armor property for free.

That it's the same cost as the enchantment for a suit of armor doesn't mean it's not overpriced. You have to compare it against the other options for getting an armor bonus when your class isn't built for armor, like the ones Pale Master mentioned.

Bracers of armor are definitely overpriced! I think the only class the price gouging really hurts though is the monk. Everyone else has other better options.
