Below are the icons I use to represent the various arcane schools. I do not know if a particular set of runes, arcane symbols or other icons have ever been established for each of the spell school, so these are certainly not canon. Generally, I still follow old school D&D magic emanation colors for each of the schools. I have used these symbols on various materials in my game (and they are included on the Scroll version of my Spell Card Template). I have provided them here in png form for others to use if they see fit.
Abjuration: Blue : Symbol is a portcullis, representing the barriers this school of magic provides.
Conjuration: Orange : Symbol is a 8-point star, representing the point of entry of the spell effect.
Divination: White: Symbol is an eye, representing the senses that reveal information.
Enchantment: Yellow: Symbol is a radiant oxbow, representing magic placed upon an item.
Evocation: Red: Symbol is a quartered circle forming a target mark, representing the various energies converging on a point.
Illusion: Purple: Symbol is a altered arrow passing through three wavy lines, representing the altering appearance of the magic.
Necromancy: Black: Symbol is a skull, representing the life altering affects of the spells.
Transmutation: Green: Symbol is a circle, within a square, within a triangle, representing the various forms an object can take.
