Anybody using Benign Transposition?

Seems like a great spell for the quick monk and the slow heavily armored fighter.

Or for the bad guys, Invisible transpoitor, healer in reserve, pop out wounded fighter, heal her, pop out other wounded fighter, continue until spells are out.

Anybody have any good or bad experiences with this one?
Is it too powerful a weird dimension door of too loo level?

I really like this spell (and the sister spell, Baleful Transposition). I can see a lot of good uses for it. Having said that, I haven't had a chance to use it in a game against the PC's yet. One of my players currently has it on his spell list. I look forward to seeing how he uses it.

I love it and use it a lot. I'm playing a Rogue 5/Wizard 1, and I always have it memorized for various emergencies. Sometimes I need to sneak in somewhere...then...Pop! Our tank is suddenly in there to beat down while I lead the rest of the party in. Or sometimes....scouting ahead turns bad, requiring me to swap with our friendly-neighborhood-take-the-punishment paladin. Or...fly my raven familiar up to a desired ledge, roof, or whatever....and then swap.

I play a conjurer (summoner) and used the spell last session---once to rescue someone from a grapple (switched him with one of my summons). I see other similar uses in the future.

That should not work. The spell ought to have failed in some manner.

A creature or object brought into being or transported to your location by a conjuration spell cannot appear inside another creature or object, nor can it appear floating in an empty space. It must arrive in an open location on a surface capable of supporting it.

Fortunately, that use is neither bringing a creature into being nor transporting one to your location.

Oh, and my sorcerer uses it all the time. We thought it a bit too powerful for 1st level. It essentially duplicates a dim door for two people. Comparing it to other 1st level spells doesn't make sense, but the effect in play still seems too strong. We're trying it with two modifications: close range and you must touch one of the creatures transposed. The second change doesn't seem like a big deal, but the first one is significant and, in our opinion, in line with the level of spell. I would leave in medium range if you raise the level to two.

I didn't even bother to get baleful transposition because the caveat of 'same solid object' just plain sucks as a limitation. Of course, our mostly water-based campaign world and the fact that my PC is a sea kin aggravates the limitation. :)

Besides, unconscious are always willing and that works pretty well on a ship in the middle of the ocean (but you may end up losing some treasure). :D

My wizard loves this spell. Mind you, the last time she used it she was in a heavy battle in a burning building against a lycanthrope who happened to be her father. He went down, and she used Benign Transpotion to bring him out of the building and taking her into the fire, which ended up in her going down one round later. She survived in the old end, but her father didn't. It was a great battle.

Anywho, I love the spell. Very useful. And the 3rd level spell Regroup is one of my favorites as well along the same lines.

the spell is great. especially on low levels, when you don't have fly or dim door yet. with the help of benigh transportation and bat familiar my wizard could infiltrate almost any locked premise, make through any obstacle like wall, chasm or lake of lava.
i also took advantage of its tactical use, placing myself on the top of the roof or tree during a fight, running away from grapple, saving a heavily wounded ally, etc.
in other words, this spell grants a decent mobility to all of your party on the battlefield and beyond without taking away high level spell slots.
