'Avatar: The Last Airbender': Nickelodeon Greenlights TV Spinoff 'The Legend of Korra' - Speakeasy - WSJ

Looks like Nickelodeon is going to go with a sequel to the Avatar animated series. Taking place 70 years after the animated series concludes, it follows a teenage girl from the Southern Water Tribe.

Looks to involve a bunch of steampunk as well!

YES! I'm just getting my son into the original cartoon now and he loves it. This is very welcome news after the misery that was the movie.
