All the Different Types of Giant-Kin

X-Calator

First Post
Ogres, giants, ettins... oh my! Time for the giant-kin. I'm not sure how this will be set up, but I'm happy either way. I don't know what all falls under this category, so I hope to be pleasantly surprised when Filby's list gets here. :D

Scarred Lands:
Gaurak Troll - A troll race that devoured a finger of the gluttonous titan Gaurak, and was tainted by the supernatural diet. They are extremely large and constantly hungry.

Steppe Troll - Less agressive, and quite honorable nomadic trolls, who prefer mounted combat.

Celestian - Cursed by the gods, these once powerful giants now are barely more than gigantic humanoid clouds, but with a great gift for sorcery.

Flayed Giant - Giants that were forced to retreat into the Blood Sea, being warped by the blood of their imprisoned creator, the titan Kadum.

Forest Walker - Servants of the nature titan Denev, these tree-like giants guarded the forests against spawn of the other titans.

Steel Giant - Supposedly created by the deity Hedrad as a gift for Corean, these four-armed giants are masters of the forge.

Stick Giant - Enormous, up to 80 feet high giants that looks as if they are made of wood.

Surged Giant - Children of Kadum to which the titan fed his own blood. As a result, they obtained more power than their bodies were able to handle, and terribly warped.

Tuscar - Originally a humanoid race, the tuscars wre forced into the Divine War against the titans by the evil god Chardun, who made their women barren, increased their size, and made them unaging.

Trolgres (pronounced troll-gers) are just as greedy and savage as any Ogre, perhaps even more so. Although Ogres normally prey upon those different from themselves, they normally leave Trolgres well alone, not out of respect but out of fear. A Trolgre smashs and destroys any problem it faces, and things that cant be destroyed are either just ignored or ran away from. Unlike Ogres however they would under almost any circumstance help out humanoids, even if they happen to be evil. This is because they have learnt only to trust their own kind, but they tolerate Ogres and Trolls.
Trolgres grow 10 to 11 ft. tall and weigh in generally about 350 to 400 pounds. Their bodies are like those of a normal Ogre except their thickly muscled arms are longer. They have green tint to their skin and their hair naturally forms into thickly-matted dreadlocks. They have hooked hag like noses and their bodies are covered in a myriad of warts. They speak Giant.

COMBAT
Trolgres are voracious combatants. Although they like to surprise their victims, they charge into the melee, claws and clubs swinging.
Rend (Ex): If a Trolgre hits with both claw attacks, it lacthes onto the opponents body abd tears at the flesh. This attack automatically deals an additional 2d6+9 points of damage.
Regeneration (Ex): Fire and acid deal normal damage to a Trolgre. If a Trolgre loses a limb or body part, the lost portion regrows in 3d6 minutes. The creature can reattach the severed member instantly by holding it to the stump.

Also, I would like to point out that the Athach is an aberration and that the Titans are outsiders although both are related to giants.

I would also like to point out that the Minotaur is a Monstrous Humanoid that is in no way related to real giants.

Also, the Spriggan is a fey that is related to gnomes, and is not related to giants.

Later,

Yeah, I know. I included them on the list for the following reasons:

The athach was listed in the Mystara MC as a giant.

The spriggan was listed in the Greyhawk MC as giant-kin.

Krynnish minotaurs are descended from ogres.

No reason for the titans, I just threw 'em in 'cause I felt like it.
