D&D 5E Aid Spell and Wildshape

If you're under the effect of an Aid spell when you enter wildshape, does Aid increase the max HP of the new form? It seems hard to argue that it would not. If so, that's an interesting combo for a Moon Druid in the same party as a cleric or paladin.

"When you transform, you assume the beast's hit points and Hit Dice. When you revert to your normal form, you return to the number of hit points you had before you transformed." - PHB, 67

It would seem to me that if Aid is cast on you and then you wild shape, you do not retain the increased hit points. They are still waiting for you if you revert, though.

That's how I would read it too. And if you're in wild shape and someone casts aid on you, the effect goes away when you revert.

"Each target’s hit point maximum and current hit points increase by 5 for the duration."

IMO, wild shape's max HP is increased by 5.

Though i could see the other way too.

Wild Shape doesn't end any magical or other effects that still apply to you. If a cleric casts Bless on you and you Wild Shape, you retain the Bless. There's no reason why the same wouldn't be true of Aid.

Wild shape doesn't end the aid effect, it just makes it irrelevant because you are using the beast form's hit points. Just like an effect that reduced your max hp would still be in effect, but wouldn't impact the beast form.

Jaelis/Matskralc, would you say the same thing is true of Barkskin? That it is overwritten by the wildshaped form's AC, rendering Barkskin ineffective until you return to human shape?
