[5E] Android Monster Creator App

Hello, my name is Nick, and I have been trying to learn Android programming in my free time, I have just released a new app called 5e Monster Creator. I am trying to make it as user friendly as possible, and incorporate many automated functions. Currently you can create a custom creature with menus for entering a lot of standard feature as well as entering your own, and export the finished monster to a .png file to use anywhere you wish. Please check it out and let me know what you think. This app is mainly geared towards DMs, but I'd like it to be usable by everyone. Thanks!

I've just looked at this briefly, so there's not much I can say but first impressions: I like it. It looks good and is nicely intuitive in use.

One feature you absolutely need to add though is automatic saving of the monster. I just lost my first monster because I hit the back button instead of the "save monster" button in the app. That's bound to happen a lot to a lot of people.

On the nice to have list: A place to write the monster's description, along with adding a picture.

While long pressing to edit the monster is a minor inconvenience (a little button with a pencil icon next would be nice), it terrifies me that I'm also being offered the option of deleting the monster at the same time - and there's no "are you sure?" prompt when I click delete.

On the really nice to have list:

While the export to PNG feature should work well enough for turning the monsters I create into useful documents, it would be absolute awesome if I could select any number of m9nsters I've created and export them to a pdf (rather a lot more work to program than the .png export, I know)

Now let me repeat: it's looking real good.

thanks, I'll see what I can do in a couple hours after work.

Edit: So far I've added the auto save when back button is pressed, set a confirmation dialog for the delete function and added an edit icon in the listing itself, going to look into learning to export as pdf.

Hi buddy, to be frank for beginning stage it is great, but sooner or later you will need to upgrade to a superior version to move forward. :)

Hi, I know I'm probably not going to reach you but gotta try.
The app isn't on the PlayStore anymore. Are you thinking about continuing/reuploading it?
Would be really cool cause it's literally the app that got me and my playgroup into homebrew DnD.
Thanks for listening to my Ted Talk
