D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Best cleric spells to put on scrolls?

What spells should NOT be on my list of daily memorized spells, but are instead better relegated to scrolls? I'm thinking utility spells, 6th level or lower, but I'm not sure which ones would get a lot of use. Ideas? What scrolls are in your cleric's equipment list?

(1st) bless, comprehend languages, magic stone, obscuring mist, remove fear
(2nd) aid, align weapon, bull's strength, delay poison, gentle repose, make whole, lesser restoration, shield other, silence
(3rd) invisibility purge, magic circle against foo, protection from energy, water breathing, water walk
(4th) death ward, freedom of movement, neutralize poison, restoration, tongues
(5th) true seeing, wall of stone

Protection from Evil on a scroll or wand is amazing. It's like giving the middle finger to an entire school of magic! :)

When it comes up, Endure Elements is nice to have.

SpC has Mass Align Weapon and iirc it's only one level higher than single target Align Weapon.

Having Remove Paralysis/Disease/etc... and Neutralize Poison on hand seems like a good idea.

Gotta disagree w/ Vegepygmy's Protection From Energy. Mass Resist Energy is the same level and SOOOO much better (to actually cast, not on a scroll).

Any of the high value but limited application spells are handy on a scroll. Things like Cure disease, Neutralise poison, Restoration, Zone of Truth, Locate object and so on. In other words, spells that are awesomely useful but only get used once/3 months or so, even if you always memorise them. An added condition for scroll spells is that you normally need a full round to use them (minimum). Put spells that you would commonly use in non-combat situations or to recover from combat effects.

I also strongly strongly recommend a Heal spell or other Cure Level Appropriate Wounds as an emergency backstop. This one should be given to the Rogue, or someone with massive UMD skills in case you get taken down. This goes double if you are the only effective healer in the group.

Magic Circle against Bad Stuff, Water Breathing, Freedom of Movement, Knight's Move, Mass Resist Energy etc should be memorised. If and when you need these ones you need 'em in a big hurry.

My clerics make a point of having at least one Eagle's Splendor scroll on-hand for those times where you absolutely, positively need to have an additional turn-undead attempt for the day. This only works if you do not have another enhancement to Charisma already.

"You must spread some Experience Points around before giving it to _____ again."

That came up for all of you except Ranger. I tried to give each of you XP, but couldn't. But I do appreciate it. My character already had a few scrolls: Circle Dance, Dark Way, Endure Elements, Remove Paralysis, Locate Object, Remove Curse, Lesser Restoration. To that I've added Comprehend Languages, Invisibility Purge, Commune, Zone of Truth, Water Breathing, Find the Path, and Panacea (which gives me Neutralize Poison, Cure Disease, and Remove Fear in one spell).

Oh, and I added Call Zelekhut as a scroll too. Mostly I didn't want to pay the XP cost, and I only use it outside of combat.

Any more ideas? Am I doing OK now?

Thanks!

Dude, if you're a Cleric at level 11+ you're doing just fine. The fact that you've kept everyone from TPK and turning into Undead/Lycanothropes/Green Slime is strong testament.

Well, the topic is what to put on a scroll, not cast. So I don't see any "disagreement." We're just talking about two different things.

In any case, my list was limited to core spells. If mass resist energy is available, it's a pretty good choice.

So far I would say those are good lists. On the other hand I must say that I am pretty sure that if their is an xp cost in a scroll then it is still required (and then pulled from) the caster at the time of casting. Since a scroll is just an activation away from being completed, I am pretty sure this is how it works. Material components are used in the initial casting while xp components are used when the spell is triggered from the scroll.
