D&D General The Monsters Know What They're Doing ... Are Unsure on 5e24

Oh definitely. Its like the internet makes people forget how the real in person world works. But even in my online games where I am still running the campaign I'm invested in, I can't remember a player that started playing and left due to the restrictions. Its all blown way out of reality.

Penguin Random House Announces New D&D Romantasy Book

The Star Wars Hotel that was overpriced has nothing to do with The Rise of the Resistance or Flight of Passage. So I have no idea what the meme Pillar in the Way even is let alone what it has to do with what tourists in Disney World refer to rides. Your the one bringing these irrelevant things...

Well I never heard of spoutible but I find Twitter type platforms too difficult to get to information so I don't really use any of them.

D&D General The Monsters Know What They're Doing ... Are Unsure on 5e24

The DM has the right to restrict the game in any way they want. If a player can't adjust (Which realistically has never been the case) then that is a failure on the players part. If the DM can't get anyone to agree to the restrictions than nobody is interested in the world they were building...

You didn't pose a question in the first place. Take the information that is presented to you without drawing assumptions.

Congratulations for figuring that out. I literally admitted I never played the game. I called it cozy because that's what everybody that plays me tells me it is. I'm not really interested in Stardew Valley, its just played by family members often. I like the soundtrack though, I better I...

Penguin Random House Announces New D&D Romantasy Book

I don't get mad at media changing. But I don't have to change my D&D because people on Social media have misconceptions about what Alignment is or orcs being evil as a moral position instead of an aesthetic. The 2024 rulesets have changes that aren't improvements and are detriments like...

Penguin Random House Announces New D&D Romantasy Book

No I have never Played Stardew Valley. My wife and daughter have a ton of hours on it. Stardew Valley is not my sort of game. I'd rather farm for resources in ESO. I was just in Hollywood Studios this summer and I still call Star Wars Rise of Resistance, Rise of Resistance and Avatar...

Penguin Random House Announces New D&D Romantasy Book

Fair enough I guess. The only things I heard cozy applied to was Legends and Lattes books, wild beyond the witchlight and radiant citadel which involved a bunch of cooking contests and such. Video Games like Stardew Valley, and when I played Skyrim just crafting and moving furniture around my...

Penguin Random House Announces New D&D Romantasy Book

I like the 2024 rules set for the most part, but I definitely laugh at alot of the terrible art and assumptions. I don't allow orcs still, they are half orcs. Not sure why they singled out a cooking feat but it has the same effect of Musicianship so I just eliminated the cooking feat entirely...

Penguin Random House Announces New D&D Romantasy Book

I never read wild beyond the witchlight, radiant citadel, or strixhaven. I heard they were cozy but I have no idea. It made sense because I never generated any interest in any of those.

I have no idea how cozy even relates to sex. I never stated that so no idea why that came out of left field.

Thanks for that response. Well done. Lots to think about. Orange was an especially useful example.

Penguin Random House Announces New D&D Romantasy Book

Do you need the D&D ruleset for that? Most of these cozy situations are just things the players can narrate and the DM make an encounter for. Ive done "cozy" sessions for the epilogues of adventures and campaigns and PCs talk about whatever topics they want. You don't need a game system for...

Penguin Random House Announces New D&D Romantasy Book

Romantasy is fueling the fiction publishing world right now. Its really hard to find new fantasy books now that aren't romantasy in the book stores.

Cozy seems exactly opposite of what a D&D game is. Fits some of the itch indie games better where they sit around an inn and talk about significant others and make soup.

Because its politically popular? Gender is no more made up than any other concept of the English language. Humans categorize things. We scaffold things. Its not putting them on "boxes" its making sense of the world. How did this even become a topic in a gaming thread?
