I like this, but might include CHA as a modifier. Good leaders should have the option for more bastions.

My number one feedback on the UA is that the various bastions should support WotC's official tiers. Don't invent a new definition for things that are already defined. A tier 1 pub wouldn't spit out magic items for example, because it's for 1-4 level. A tier 2 pub might, because it's for 5-10...

Nothing about the math of 5e assumes players are merely assigning their ASIs to their highest ability score. While I'm certain this does happen, I have yet to see it in the 100s of characters at my tables. People really like story, which feats help tell in ways that "I get stronger" don't.

Current Aasimar lore clearly includes non-human traits that are identifiable as such - Metallic freckles, luminous eyes, a shadow that's a different color, a halo, rainbow-gleaming skin.

The separation of nature and nurture is a huge difference. I like the design that Kobold is doing in that space, it's much better than WotC.
