The VOIDRUNNER'S CODEX is coming! Explore new worlds, fight oppressive empires, fend off fearsome aliens, and wield deadly psionics with this comprehensive boxed set expansion for 5E and A5E!
DnD has gone through so many edition changes that they might not have portfolios in 2e, I thought I'd seen somewhere where they did but closest I can find in my brief search is in 3e where they, are noted as patrons of things like greed and lust or secrets.
I think I've stopped playing DnD for a few years ever since I started, not because of going to another game but due to life. Happened with 2e, 3e, and 4e. 5e I've been able to play somewhat consistently, I have played some OSE in between and am still playing 5e because that's what the DM wants...
Perhaps it isn't necessary, but I like having the warrior+caster classes of paladin (divine) and ranger (druidic) and would love to see the warrior+wizard equivalent.
It is entirely possible to strip down many of the classes to the basics and make classes like barbarian, paladin, ranger...
It has been a while since I've used it, but last I checked I had to go through and select every single one of my books. Maybe it's easy, but it's time consuming and I can't always remember all the options I have, especially with the little 6 monster books that they have. It's a pain and makes me...
It definitely could do better at filtering, not just which you own in the source books, but also when looking at options in the lists and encounter builders. I definitely don't need to see monsters from products I don't own when throwing together an encounter and the current method of choosing...
That sounds like it's for the marketplace which did allow you to hide purchased books. I never saw anything on the actual sourcebooks tab that let you filter them to show only the ones that you had already purchased.
This isn't really true, the various mtg books limited races. There may have been a sidebar "talk to your DM if you want to play X race" but by default they were limited. I think they'd do the same for dark sun. Other settings are a little more kitchen sink so not surprising that you can find...
I think increasing the dice is fine, but the modifier damage might be a bit too much. However, turning an attack into a small AoE might be cool, make a single attack roll, possibly hit both the barbarian and the fighter with a single attack.
I was never too fond of the serpent form of Asmodeus and exclude it from the lore if I actually use him.
@dave2008 Asmodeus is ever so slightly weaker, but he is also harder to harm (+2 vs +3 weapons to hit might be moot by the time PC's get a chance to fight though). It would be an epic...
I recall somewhere in 2e that fiendish lords could grant clerics up to 3rd level spells, or 4th level if actually in the presence of the demon lord. I can't recall where it was though, I'm guessing planescape but I'd have to hunt around for it.
That's right, I had forgotten about that one, though I think it was quite different to 4e game play. Mind you, I only played it a little. I think I would have found a more squad based grid combat game more playable.
One of the things I was looking forward to, and I was surprised when it didn't really eventuate, was a crpg using 4e as the base. They'd created a perfect game for the transition to computer games and they did pretty much nothing with it. It would have worked great as something similar to those...
I think heavy armour is just easier since you can dump dex and still have a good AC. If I use both str and dex then I prefer medium armour, since it still let's me be stealthy.
I'd make it 8 hours to match mage armour. I might not include an up cast bonus. I'd maybe include an ability that dismisses the spell but prevents all damage from a single hit, something to give the spell an active ability.
4e ranger had the same hit points as a warlord, they still have d10 hit dice so I feel like the warlord should have the same. I can see dropping armour to medium, but it's always felt like a warrior class to me and I think it should be as sturdy as one when it comes to hit points.
And this is pretty much where people who want a warlord disagree, I've always felt they were warriors and should be built on a warrior chassis. As I stated, healing also doesn't feel essential to the warlord, temp hit points I'd be keen on but I don't think healing doesn't need to be in. Healing...
