I would rather see something more 'traditional' like Phandelvar or mix it with Icespire to include more ideas. The bigger more fantastic elements would turn me off. Kids like it though.
In Game of Thrones, nobody would have cared about the knowledge of Tyrion Lannister being the one who was in charge of rebuilding the sewer system if it was in an info dump in the start of the campaign. It only became important for the episode with the siege and him using the knowledge to sneak...
I did like the 1e/2e way of having caster level affect spells. Magic Missile started with one missile and every other level of the caster added one more missile up to 5 missiles. It was a bit of a cheat to know how powerful the bad guy is by how many missiles he throws at you, but also makes...
This is what I was thinking as well. It is nice to see everyone is showing up and being good players. Maybe paying for it means you are more invested and want to be with others like this.
Is it similar to a convention? I'm not sure. People pay cash for a 4 hour slot and the DM is expected...
And here I am just highlighting words and hitting the button for italics. If I'm feeling frisky, I might use the control and I keys on the keyboard to make italics.
I know nothing about actual coding though.
Part of the problem with races other than human is that there are no players that are non-human. We cannot really understand the mind and customs of elves and dwarves, let along a plant or frog. We might take what we read and see on elves and mix it with Spock and add a few funny things to...
I do not mind having the more dark ages or medieval world or even the more renaissance feel like other worlds. I would like to see something that makes it different or have a spin not really seen.
Combining all the 5e races, classes and books to make the world will be the big problem to...
First and still is D&D.
First adventure we all died. I recall a gate dropping down and splitting the party with gnolls coming and killing half of us and then the other half.
I think the best memory was when I ran the Under Illifarn campaign back in 86/87 when it came out. I remember...
Perhaps a mix of science and heresy. Most may have started out with the expectation that science explains things only to run into walls and tests that barred exploration. When they mixed the science with the old tests they found that inner power that they lusted for.
It is also a main reason why people take the background and feats when making a character. What can you do for me and do I get Perception and Investigation along with Magic Initiative feat.
Might be more a game thing.
