The "I Didn't Comment in Another Thread" Thread

Got to Mary because we were on drafting order of multi-versal heroes. My top three were Mary Poppins, Spectre, and Bugs Bunny. And if I somehow managed to snag all three of those then Mr. Rogers.
Hmmm, I think we have a drafting conflict. I think I'd take Herbie Popnecker for sheer unstoppable power, Barry Ween for smarts, and Bugs Bunny because he's Bugs Bunny, for cripe's sake. Never bet against the Rabbit.

Miaowara Tomokato (aka Samurai Cat) would be my reserve pick. He's nearly as unstoppable as Popnecker, and has a lot of cross-genre experience.

May I reiterate how uncomfortable I am with sand-based metaphors based on childhood experiences with cat poop in playgrounds? I hate to sound like that mealy-mouthed cretin Anakin but I just don't like the stuff. I'm pretty beach-negative too.

Poppins wouldn't care a whit about The One Ring. She's just another incarnation of Bombadil.

I don't think she'd care about the One Ring. But if there are any former kids she nanny'd on middle earth it feels like she would care about what it did. I also don't think she'd be forgetful if she took on two hobbits as charges and went off to teach them some of the big lessons.

That being said, stopping by to say hi to Bombadil and Goodberry feels like a thing she would do if the kids/hobbits hadn't met him yet.

I think even Poppins might find Sauron a trifle difficult, as he's basically at this point the avatar of the Valar Morgoth; Frodo gets a by because he's weak -- Morgoth is obsessed with sheer power and only pays attention to actually-powerful people, more the fool, he. Poppins'd probably do well to call in her fellow-supernatural, Pennywise...

Supposedly in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen she's more than up to it. (Not a fan of the later Moore stuff, so haven't read that volume).

One internet theory is that Pennywise and Poppins are the same species. (Haven't seen anything with Pennywise, so can't say for sure).

In any case, my vote is that she's more than ok with tackling Sauron, especially if he's got a lot of his power still in the ring. And i am good with grabbing some of those that @Wofano Wotanto suggested above.

But in such a crossover, it seems obvious Morgoth would pull in the power of his other avatars from other universes, such as Evil from Time Bandits. With the power of Evil (and the map of the Holes), Morgoth becomes unstoppable. QED.
