D&D 5E Need Detours with Mass Suggestion

First Post
I have a traveling NPC who will eventually be important. As means of establishing the character and his abilities, I intend for him to pop up on occasion and cast Mass Suggestion to cause small detours/interruptions. He largely does this for either amusement or to handle short tasks. This is intended to happen a handful of times, so I need a few ideas for what he might hit the (primarily martial) party with when they bump into him.

This usually isn't intended to happen during fights or at critical moments, so much as it's something they encounter during downtime. For example, the one time the party encountered this NPC already, they had finished their quest and went drinking at a seaside tavern. He came in off a boat, walked into the bar, and said "If you have a strong back, come unload my cargo." The party (and several tavern patrons) became dockworkers for their night off. My players laughed at the situation, so smaller uses such as this are fine with the group. Please give me some funny/menial uses for this spell.

I can see this NPC getting killed in short order...

But, if you want some tasks:

1) Plant a Garden
2) Water the Garden
3) Harvest the Garden
4) Wash his Coach
5) Stable his horses
6) Build a Fence around his Tower/Manse
7) Paint the Fence
8) Pick up his laundry
9) Exchange a gem for gold coins
10) Wash the Dishes
11) Be an escort for a night on the town
12) Pick up and deliver a package
13) Collect a Debt from another NPC
14) Deliver a letter to a nearby town
15) Fetch a Lemonaide
16) Cover his tab for a meal or drink
