Level Up (A5E) Thrown weapon style/maneuver

I see your point, but that would require some further homebrewing, or at least some flexibility in existing text. Purge magic and anticipate spell would definitely need to work with the extended range, at least in my mind (you are looking for casters that you can attack, and he is right on your...

Level Up (A5E) Thrown weapon style/maneuver

I increase to range 15 ft because I think 10 ft reach is still in some big monsters reach and, as a ranged attack, it would draw itself an opportunity attack. I also think if your weapon doesn't have the return property or if you don't have the thrown weapon fighting style, you become...

Level Up (A5E) Thrown weapon style/maneuver

I suppose that would be another maneuver to come up with (stance- all thrown weapons you wild gaim the return property) but let's focus The level maneuver Bonus action (stance) If you are wielding a thrown weapon, you have reach 15 ft with that weapon. Simple? Need something else?

Level Up (A5E) Thrown weapon style/maneuver

I was thinking or 4th degree, since stances seem to be either 1st or 4th degree, and 1st degree is too low. But i am curious, why would you restrict it to returning weapons and not any thrown weapon?

Level Up (A5E) Thrown weapon style/maneuver

Yes, as a stance, so they can do aoos and other things in a small range. Since they generally don't do heaps of damage i don't see it being too powerful. As a stance or a feat, need some help.with the power level. Is there any interactions im missing?

Level Up (A5E) Thrown weapon style/maneuver

I am thinking of homebrewing a way for thrown weapons to have an effective range of 10 ft. My original thinking was a stance, maybe for biting zephyr, but what do you think? Would that be too powerful? Another option is a feat, but i would need a couple more bullets for a talent like this...

Level Up (A5E) Quick question about heralds and paladin subclasses

Yeah, im thinking that too, because in A5e you add a subschool to your spell list, in DnD you get two 'free' spells per spell level, that you cant swap out. So up an down sides to both I guess

Level Up (A5E) Quick question about heralds and paladin subclasses

Thanks for the responses. It seems oath spells are in the subclass and how you use oath spells is in the class description. On this case, how herald use oath spells is up for the DM and I think what people think is most reasonable would be to add to the spell list. This means herald will have...

Level Up (A5E) Quick question about heralds and paladin subclasses

All paladin subclasses (at least the more recent ones) say that the character automatically have the oath spells prepared. The A5E subclasses seem to only add a theme or subset of spells to a paladin spell list. My question is actually in two parts: 1.Should I just add oath spells to my...

Level Up (A5E) Arcane knight's reactive ward

To be honest, I think the 15 foot range is enough of a limitation that you can't buff the whole party (you can only buff 2 anyway, plus yourself). I think this just needs to be buffed so this includes aoe spells and perhaps other non magical attacks like breath weapons

Level Up (A5E) Arcane knight's reactive ward

IMO this would be a balance issue IF you could trigger this ward in response to an AoE. But you can't. The only spell that has multiple targets with spell attack or dex saves that I am aware of is scorching ray!

Level Up (A5E) Arcane knight's reactive ward

Another thing some of you may have missed: the benefits (+5 AC and advantage to dex saves) is only against the triggering spell, instead of during until the start of your next turn like shield. This makes it even more niche, since if the spell triggering the maneuver is not an attack or dex...

Level Up (A5E) Arcane knight's reactive ward

Love the maneuver, on paper at least. It seems perfect to resist some dragon breath weapon, but it's pretty clear it only protects against spells... Actually, you can only use the reaction if you or an ally are target of a spell with duration of one round or less. This now excludes debuffs...

Level Up (A5E) Wildborne ranger spells

IT turned out i t was just my insecurity against something not "orthodox". He said he woyld think a out it, but in a tone im prettybsure he will accept it. Another reason is we had a bad experience with 3rd party unbalanced content in the early 5e years. But anyway, thanks everybody for your...

Level Up (A5E) Wildborne ranger spells

I like this idea, if its problematic, we can easily go back and change. About the specific spell, i think the fact thst it affects only one creature kinda balances the fact it can restrain a flying creature (which is very strong indeed). The only thing the feels out of place is the damage while...
