Yes on those mental ability scores. I think the rest of the red text for ability scores is ok. Do you agree?
Yes on the base dragon language.
Please go ahead and tweak on the size and type.
Let's go with the red text you have for Skills and Feats.
OK, the green text is all good for me, and I like the ability score approach you have well enough. The abnormally strong Tiny giant weredragon makes sense (it's the giant-ness), and I think we've worried over this long enough!
Default Size | Reduced Size | Strength | Natural Armor |
---|---|---|---|
Diminutive | Fine | Same | Same |
Tiny | Diminutive | –2 | Same |
Small | Tiny | –4 | Same |
Medium | Small | –4 | Same |
Large | Medium | –8 | –2 |
Huge | Large | –8 | –3 |
Gargantuan | Huge | –8 | –4 |
Colossal | Gargantuan | –8 | –5 |
Example: A young gold dragon is a Large dragon with Str 25, Dex 10, Con 17 and +13 natural armor bonus; applying –10 or –11 comes to Str +14, Dex +0, Con +6. A gnome warrior is a Small humanoid with Str 13, Dex 11, Con 14. Therefore in default dragon form, a young gold weredragon gnome is a Large monster with Str 27, Dex 11, Con 20 and NA +13. If its dragon or hybrid form reduces in size to Medium it becomes Str 19, Dex 11, Con 20 and NA +11. If it shrinks to its minimum size of Small it has Str 15, Dex 11, Con 20 and NA +11.
I think post 1416 (all the magenta text) works ok.
To clarify that the mental abilities don't change with a change in shape, I'd list the stats of the drakanthrope in base creature form, too, not just the normal stats of the base creature. So I'd list not just the gnome warrior stats but the states of the drakanthrope in gnome form, which has ability boosts.
Other than that, I'm not really bothered about which examples you want to include!
