Well I for one appreciate hearing them say things like the following.

“Part of the power of D&D is that it is this big tent that accommodates so many different play styles, different tastes in terms of genres of fantasy, and different moods about what's appropriate at the table," Crawford said. "D&D has a really vast territory that it covers and that to me is a challenge when we work on it, but it's also one of the beauties of the game. It's part of why it appeals to so many of us.”

I just wish that would be more daring. It all feels so samey, like the MCU. Sure, give us a "standard D&D adventure" in the spring but maybe do something honestly weird and challenging with new mechanics and a fresh setting and some blood and bewbs in the fall.

We've already had someone post today that using cards as your randomizer in your RPGs makes them not an RPG, so I suspect there will be people scandalized by the Book of Many Things this fall.

That’s being left open for third parties. They’re not gonna do “blood and boobs” anytime soon.
