Dragonlance What spell school would Raistlin be in 5E?

A warlock with Charisma 10? You can't just re-draft the characters to make them fit new classes! Heresy! Although, I suppose there is no logical reason to make Tika a rogue rather than just a fighter with an urchin background with stealth and sleight of hand skills and the tavern brawler feat?

If I was to try building them, I don't think I would change any of their core abilities. The challenge is building approximations around those stats. I do think some of them were very inaccurate compared to the books though. Wis 12 for Tas? You are having a laugh.
A good argument to allow Int for Warlocks, like in Level Up.

I meeeean... Raistlin was Charismatic AF. They just never show that on the character sheets because they're focused entirely on selling the idea of him being a Wizard, for starters.

Over and over he manipulated his companions and brother. Again and again he used his knowledge to manipulate others throughout his life. Heck, he stood out in a crowd with Gold Skin and Hourglass eyes, recognizable by tons of folks. In D&D terms that's all high Charisma.

Granted, he was good at Arcana checks but... shrug Either way, really.

Though like @Micah Sweet says, just use A5e of Intelligence Warlock or say the Fistandantilus Patron changes your spellcasting mod from Charisma to Intelligence if you really want to try and maintain things in that way.

I do think Raistlin's stats were inaccurate as far as the books go. His Strength and Constitution were most definitely written as below average. In 1e they could have both been 8 or 9 without incurring penalties.

I'm weird in that I'm down for tweaking stats to be accurate to the books but I'm averse to changing them for purely mechanical benefits. 🤪

Nothing weird about that to me.

How do you figure? Everyone except his brother dislikes him, some even hate him.

He may have been sly, but he was far from Charismatic in the original books.

You can be charismatic and hated. Kingpin exists, after all. EVERYONE hates him, especially the people who follow his orders. They still do it, though.
5e charisma is a combination of personal magnetism and force of personality that is enhanced by skills. You could dip his str and con and load it onto cha and only train in intimidation.
