Single/Multi classed balance issues

It wasn't really my idea. Credit should go to some of the other contributers on this thread.

Assuming that the Net book of Feats is being used and that the DM allows the armored caster feat to be included in the fighter's bonus feat list, that would go a long way to balancing that combo by allowing armored casting without much penalty.

Getting the right armour will help a ftr/wiz as well.

The fighter wizard in my party is an elf with 20 dex and a mithral breastplate - AC20, with a failure chance of 15%. Not too bad.

Futhermore, he's heading for the spellsword PrC (T&B), which means his failure chance will quickly drop away to 0. I highly recomend the Spellsword for anyone after an even mix of fighter and spell caster levels - apart from reduced failure chances, the character can use some attack spells as part of a normal attack action (which, appart from anything else, means no attack of opportunity).
