I think the opposite - in the frictionless world along the lines I'm saying, all interactions end up elastic. No energy is lost to heat.

That would involve the repeal of Murphy's Law. I think that a world without friction as a physical phenomenon is easier to imagine.

Almost certain I've seen this discussed at length before, but it was in old wargaming fanzines where they were talking about ripping the logistics and supply rules out of SPI and GDW wargames to make them more playable.
