PrC: Spiderling v0.1 (help requested)

Here's the first draft of my latest racially oriented PrC for my campaign setting. As usual, I'd much appreciate any constructive comments on how this class could be better balanced or more interesting.

Spiderling

Even before ascending to the state of godhood he currently enjoys, Douggan, the Spider Lord, has always had an affection for halflings. Now that he's a God, he favors them above all other races. Halflings that show particularly strong devotion, without pestering Douggan with daily requests for miracles, will find themselves slowly developing some potent abilities. These blessed creatures are known as spiderlings.

HD: d6

Requirements:
Deity: Douggan
Alignment: Lawful Evil, Neutral Evil, or Lawful Neutral
Racial: Halfling
Knowledge (religion), 5 ranks
Climb, 8 ranks
Move Silently, 8 ranks

BA: Rogue
Good Saves: Reflex
Skill Points: 2+Int

Class Skills: Balance (Dex), Climb (Str), Craft (Int), Hide (Dex), Intuit Direction (Wis), Knowledge: Religion (Int), Listen (Wis), Move Silently (Dex), Profession (Wis), Wilderness Lore (Wis)

Weapons: Simple
Armor: Light

Level Abilities
1 Spiderfriend
2 Spiderwalker (5ft)
3 Spiderfang (DC11, 1d3 Str)
4
5 Spiderwalker (10ft)
6 Spiderfang (DC15, 1d6 Str)
7 Web
8
9 Spiderwalker (base)
10 Avatar Form

Spiderfriend: At 1st level, a Spiderling has little to fear from spiders. As long as the Spiderling doesn't bother them, they won't bother him. This does not, however, extend to any companions the Spiderling might have. However, should a Spiderling deliberately cause a spider the slightest of harm he will lose access to all Spiderling abilities for 1 day per hit point of damage caused to a spider.

Spiderwalker: At 2nd level, a Spiderling gains the ability to stick to walls with his bare hands and feet. This gives the Spiderling a Climb rate of 5ft, which improves to 10ft at 5th level. Both hands and feet must be bare and empty. At 9th level, a Spiderling can walk on walls or ceilings as easily as the ground, increasing his movement rate to his base movement and leaving his hands free to use as normal. His feet still must be bare.

Spiderfang: At 3rd level, a Spiderling grows a set of venomous fangs which do 1d4 damage and deliver a nasty poison (DC 11, initial and secondary 1d3 Str). At 6th level, the venom becomes more potent (DC 15, initial and secondary 1d6 Str).

Web: At 7th level, a Spiderling gains the ability to cast a web up to six times per day. This is similar to an attack with a net, but has a maximum range of 25 feet, with a range increment of 5 feet, and is effective against targets of up to Medium-size. The web anchors the target in place, allowing no movement.

Avatar Form: At 10th level, the Spiderling recieve their greatest gift from their god. They gain the ability to polymorph in a monstrous demonic spider identical in most ways to their deities pre-godhood form...that of a Bebilith. This transformation can be performed once per day, and lasts for a number of rounds equal to 10 + Wisdom bonus.

How about adding a few ranks in balance as a prerequisite? Spiders are known for their grace. And maybe some sort of trap ability making use of the Spiderling's ability to construct webs- like maybe a snare trap or something. What are the class skills? Other than these things, looks like a pretty good class. You might want to add how a spiderling changes to look like a spider, if the character does indeed. If you want inspiration, there is also a similar PrC to this in Song and Silence called the Fang of Lolth I think.

Thanks for the input, Jim. I think I shall definately add a few ranks of Balance to the prerequisites. I like the web-trap idea, but I'm not sure how to quantify the ability into game mechanics. I editted in the class skills above.

Other than the rather dramatic transformation into a bebelith, the physical changes to a Spiderling are subtle, as Douggan is a subtle deity and wants his followers to seem as normal as possible upon casual inspection. Their fangs are retractable, their spinnerets nicely tucked away in their mouths. Only their dentists know the truth. :D

This reminds me somewhat of one of the recent X-Files episodes.. the one with the bug-kid that could spit out webs and control bugs.
