The Intro Text again. The Sumber Hills The Sumber hills have seen empires rise and fall. Most people know that it was once a Dwarf kingdom, some even know that before the dwarves there were drow, fewer still speculate that there was something there before even the drow. Since the dwarf kingdom fell the Sumber Hills have seem many an adventurer find their fortune and many more lose their life questing for lost dwarf treasure. A few generations ago, a group of these adventures tried to make their mark on the region. The knights of the Silver Horn built a number of strongholds in the area in an effort to claim it as theirs, weather these keeps were built to keep the world from entering the ancient ruins or something in the ruins from entering the world is not known. Barely a generation after finishing these strongholds, an Orc horde rampaged through the area, overrunning the keeps. For centuries the keeps have stood empty, alternately occupied by monsters and cleared by adventurers, eventually becoming known by locals as the haunted keeps. Most recently the region seems to be attracting monsters, villains, the power hungry and the outright insane. Caravans traveling through the region are having to spend more and more on security and locals report strange goings on and unnatural weather. As always, wherever evil gathers adventurers gather to fight it; for renown, profit, honour or their god. You have been drawn here by stories of a missing delegation from Mirabar. Well equipped and protected, it is strange indeed that something has befallen them. The delegation was made up of envoys and carried gifts for various powers along their route. Whoever has interfered with them is certainly playing with dangerous political powers. Is it simple coincidence that your own quests bring you here at the same time?
