<blockquote data-quote="Michael O'Brien" data-source="post: 9287219" data-attributes="member: 6807727"><p style="text-align: center"><img src="https://www.chaosium.com/product_images/uploaded_images/tom-sullivan.png" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /></p> <p style="text-align: center"></p><p>We're excited to announce renowned artist and illustrator <a href="https://lovecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Tom_Sullivan" target="_blank">Tom Sullivan</a> is coming to <a href="https://www.chaosium.com/blogchaosium-con-2024-registration-is-live-see-you-in-ann-arbor-in-april/" target="_blank">Chaosium Con</a> in Ann Arbor MI next month!</p><p></p><p>Our special guest is best known for his special effects, make-up effects, props, and stop motion clay animation for Sam Raimi’s <em>The Evil Dead</em> and <em>Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn, Army of Darkness, </em>and<em> Fly II. </em>But in addition to work in Hollywood, Tom's paintings and illustrations for <a href="https://www.chaosium.com/call-of-cthulhu-classic-2-deluxe-boxed-set/" target="_blank">Call of Cthulhu Classic</a> publications were a pivotal part of the game's early success. </p><p></p><p>Nobody had ever seen an RPG book cover like the cyclopean city on <em>Shadows of Yog-Sothoth</em>, or the completely doomed patient on the cover of <em>The Asylum</em>. He also did the cover and most of the interior illustrations in the original boxed set of <em>Masks of Nyarlathotep</em>, as well as covers for the fog-laden <em>Cthulhu by Gaslight</em> box set, and the more fanciful H.P. Lovecraft's <em>Dreamlands</em>, as well as many others. </p><p></p><p style="text-align: center"><img src="https://www.chaosium.com/product_images/uploaded_images/sullivan-1.png" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /></p><p></p><p>Tom's twenty-seven paintings for the first edition of <em>S. Petersen's Field Guide to the Cthulhu Monsters</em> set a look and tone for the Mythos that we still know and fear today. </p><p></p><p>Tom also painted Sir Bors de Ganis for the cover of the first edition of Greg Stafford's masterwork <em>The Pendragon Campaign</em>, as well as a horrifying broo for the cover of RuneQuest 2nd edition's <em>Snakepipe Hollow. </em>For RuneQuest 3rd Edition, he painted memorable covers for <em>The Haunted Ruins, Troll Gods</em>, and <em>Gods of Glorantha</em>.</p><p style="text-align: center"></p> <p style="text-align: center"><img src="https://www.chaosium.com/product_images/uploaded_images/sullivan-2.png" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /></p><p></p><p>If you played any Chaosium games in the 1980s, the chances are that Tom's visions lead you there. </p><p></p><p>Tom will selling prints in the <a href="https://www.chaosium.com/blogcoming-to-chaosium-con-2024-the-artist-atrium/" target="_blank">Artist Atrium</a>!
