D&D 3E/3.5 armor sizes in 3E

On page 105 of the 3E PHB there is a table for "Armor for Unusual Creatures" and it lists price and weight changes to armor based on size and humanoid vs. non-humanoid.

What about dwarves? Unlike gnomes and halfings, dwarves are size medium -- the same size as a human. In 3E rules, do dwarves wear the same size armor as humans because they are both the same creature size? For that matter, are halfings and gnomes able to wear the same armor in 3E because they are both size small?

A book and page reference would be appreciated in any replies.

Thanks much.

If you're talking about mundane armor, then those fgures are simply pricing guides for custom fitted armor.

Since all of the common races are, well, common, the armorer is used to fitting them, and so doesn't charge extra for it.

This doesn't neccesarily mean that they all wear the same size armor, simply that they're common enough that no distinction is normally made.

Magical armors automatically adjust themselves to fit, so it becomes a moot point after the armor is enchanted.

The short answer to your question is that 3e has been abstracted enough that you can think of all medium sized humanoid armor fitting all medium sized humanoids, and all small sized humanoid armor fitting all small sized humanoids.

Full Plate

Full Plate is really custom fitted ... it's the only one that has to be officially resized by an armorer.

so yup ... dwarfs, elfs, half-elfs, humans, and half-orcs all can wear the same armor ...

I'd rather do it that way as oppossed to the way the Complete Fighters Handbook did ...
