Are you bringing one? ;)

I'm starting this thread so we can figure out what weekend works best for everyone who wants to attend the Dallas ENWorld Gameday 2007.

My wife wanted to let everyone know that Nordstrom's is having their big anniversary sale on the 20th of July.

Just in case that's important to anyone. :p

June 17th is Father's Day (Sunday).

Just some friendly bumpage. My wife is hoping for the July 20th weekend, since she and the kids can go shopping in Dallas while I game.

Only 11 people planning on going to the Dallas Gameday???

So far, we've got about a 4 way tie.

Maybe we should give this a bit, and then have a run-off poll with the winning dates, and people could supply any preferences they have in the poll.

Of course, whatever venue might be available might also dictate the date.

No matter what weekend we choose, there'll be somewhat consistant average number of people who can make it. The only dates to avoid would be either during a convention or near a holiday.

I think a venue is a higher priority than dates. It not only gives us more concrete dates, getting a venue will let us know what costs the event will incur. With any additional cost, some people who would attend if it were free will decide to not come, lowering our estimate and making it more expensive.

[sour grapes]Dallas/Fort Worth people tend to be notoriously flakey about committing to events like this. If there's something better going on, they'll drop their original plans. My wife and I hosted two "game day" events for friends, inviting about 25 to each event, and ultimately getting about four people to each event. Much of this was due to "life" coming up. This lack of committment is the same for others we know who've hosted game events in their homes. [/sour grapes]

And, it looks like maybe only 6 people to any one day.

Any venue I found has a minimum number of people.

... I think. Maybe the Richardson Civic Center had some smaller rooms.
