    Custom divine abilities, portfolios, etc.

This seems perfect as a divine aura divine tier ability.

    AD&D 2E and The Immortal's Handbook

I rescued this a few years back. Demonologist for AD&D 2E. It was once on WOTC's site way long ago in the before time. As far as I know the links are long dead. Hence the pdf.

    Rules Questions

I would rule that they don't interact at all. The first is a slow build like a boiling kettle. The second is more like a bomb going off.

    AD&D 2E and The Immortal's Handbook

I don't mind. I welcome discussion of all editions. :)

    AD&D 2E and The Immortal's Handbook

Ascension has been very useful. :) In regards to Armor...Kinda...In 2E... "Creatures with Natural Armor Classes Some creatures possess a natural Armor Class already superior to some of the armor types (for example, the horse is AC 7). However, these creatures can still benefit from wearing...

    AD&D 2E and The Immortal's Handbook

Thank you. I was trying to remember which book it was. Useful info to have. :)

    AD&D 2E and The Immortal's Handbook

Deities in 2E underwent several changes and weren't officially finalized until Faiths & Avatars. That book had the most updated rules. Unfortunately, they never made the manifestations, just the avatars. Although they did outline what gods of demigod to greater god status were capable of...

    AD&D 2E and The Immortal's Handbook

Currently I use 3.5 Ascension mostly as a guideline for divine ability slots, integrated class features, and portfolios. I plan to stick with d20's for Hit Dice and Ability score maxes of 50 since there's precedence with ability bonuses being doubled for a couple of deities. Plus I never liked...

    AD&D 2E and The Immortal's Handbook

Not one shotting, but solo and within 5 rounds. Ideally a 4 member party fight with a god should last at least 10 rounds. I mean, it's a god. It should be difficult.

    AD&D 2E and The Immortal's Handbook

Deities spells are usually uncapped, so nearly any damaging spell can make even 400 hp worthless. I once had a player inflict somewhere near 1000 points of damage without breaking any rules or using time stop cheese. I forget exactly how, but it was technically not illegal, so I allowed it...

    AD&D 2E and The Immortal's Handbook

I like uncapped ability scores myself, but the highest I ever saw for 2E was a 50 Constitution for Death in Mayfair Games' Archmagic material. Unless you count their take on Ahriman with his literally Infinite Intelligence score. He's in Monsters of Myth and Legend 3, pg. 49. This is comparable...

    AD&D 2E and The Immortal's Handbook

Little known bit of ability score history. (I've been researching older editions lately.) Gygax and friends used stats up to at least 32. My source for this is Dragon Magazine 36 pg. 16. I found it by pure dumb luck while I was searching for stuff about angels. This was for mortal giants and...

    AD&D 2E and The Immortal's Handbook

My changes to Faiths & Avatars include... d20's for Hit Dice, if demi-deity or higher, Ability Scores up to 50 (with scaling benefits), AC and THACO have no caps, Damage based on size and Virtual Size Categories, Virtual Size Categories based on what your Strength would be in 3.5 based on your...

I like this. It's basically a campaign reset button.

    Sub-Epic Offerings

I never studied the Netheril stuff. Thank you for pointing this out. Very useful stuff. Given that Mystra is unable to impose restrictions on anyone beyond her Crystal Sphere, I imagine some liches elsewhere might still function like this.

    Immortals Handbook website back up

Perhaps a conversion supplement to AD&D 2E from all the later editions? I'd very much love to see how you would do that. Nothing too crazy, just something for us supergeeks to reverse engineer. Kinda like when WOTC put out that small pdf for converting 2E to 3E, but for deities and such and for...

    AD&D 2E and The Immortal's Handbook

How does everyone feel about this concept? Have you done this? If you did, how did you implement it? I personally use Faiths & Avatars (the most updated AD&D 2E rules) with a few minor tweaks and update Deities and Demigods 1E for the actual deities (not Avatars). I find it works well up to...

    Immortals Handbook website back up

I love the old site. I still make heavy use of it. If it were possible for me to port it all into a single pdf, I totally would. Unfortunately, I'm a bit of a luddite barbarian. As it is, I have several key pages saved as pdfs and have collected a veritable library of notes from this site as...

    Custom divine abilities, portfolios, etc.

Depends on the Dungeon Master and the books. By RAW, Dragonlance's Time Reaver spell doesn't (mostly because the gods themselves disallow it) but Call of Cthulhu d20's Create Time Gate does, potentially with disasterous consequences. Then there's 2E stuff if you allow conversions. The...

    Custom divine abilities, portfolios, etc.

I guess they gimped it by the time it was completed. It was originally infinite. Kinda makes Transtemporal useless now since certain official WOTC spells of 9th level already allow time travel and Time Dilation allows double actions, then triple if taken twice, etc..
