There are definetly fan expansions and hacks of Blades in the Dark that would require the core book. Otherwise the Forged in the Dark license is extremely open so all the major products officially called Forged in the Dark I've seen are complete games unto themselves.

Honestly, I don't think they're going to be any more bothered by Exodus being Traveller inspired then all the other Traveller inspired settings/games from Starfield to Battletech to Firefly. Battletech (from a former GDW licensee!) even took the 2d6 combat system and jump drive galaxy...

Ditto, recieved it a while ago and thought it was released a few months back. The physical book is a gorgeous coffe table piece and I'm just as happy with it as with Shannon Applecline's other works.
