D&D Beyond Releases Free Forgotten Realms Adventure

I wonder if this has to do with everybody's favourite demon lord/god... Squints at subtitles, oh it does.

D&D General How Much D&D Stuff Is There Anyway? Part 4: Novels

There's definitely some gems in this list, along with more than a fewer stinkers. I recently reread the Dragonlance Chronicles trilogy, it's still fun. Ditto the first few Drizzt trilogies. I enjoyed the Dark Sun Prism Pentad series, even if I can understand the frustration since I wouldn't...

Freebies, Sales, and Charity Bundles for October 5, 2025

It's not posted anywhere, but the implication is the month of Darkness is coming through Renegade's US Store (instead of EU or UK). They only ship to US, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia, and those are the only countries with shipping rates in the bundle.

Hasbro Opens New Wizards of the Coast Video Game Studio in Montreal to Support D&D Franchise

Huh, in related news Starbreeze has cancelled development of their D&D project: https://www.eurogamer.net/payday-developer-starbreeze-cancels-dungeons-and-dragons-project-to-focus-on-its-flagship-franchise-two-years-after-it-was-announced So there's no net change in number of D&D video games in...

Traveller: the iconic science fiction roleplaying game

That's actually one of the complaints about Mongoose Traveller. The lack of lethality during character generation makes it more beneficial to serve endless terms before entering the game. I.e. Starting the game as a 8 term general or scientist emeritus with huge skills and collected wealth. A...

D&D General How Much D&D Stuff Is There Anyway? Part 1: Editions

That's a really loaded question, since it depends on your constraints. I'll take the 1994 Planescape Campaign Setting box set, since I'm obsessed with old strange settings. MSRP is $30 USD, with inflation that's about $65 (still cheaper than Adventures in the Multiverse I guess?). Ebay has that...

D&D General How Much D&D Stuff Is There Anyway? Part 2: Settings

The savings grace for the modern collector is the ability to go digital. The majority of these titles are available in PDF for a reasonable price with the occasional sales. I'd probably be reckless enough to shell out $600-700 today for a complete set of Planescape or Darksun, but it would...

D&D General How Much D&D Stuff Is There Anyway? Part 1: Editions

I made the mistake of collecting all the 5e books and all of the 5.5e to date. This article has reminded me that I would be out of house and home if I had collected all the previous editions...

Hacking Blades In The Dark With John Harper And Deep Cuts

There are definetly fan expansions and hacks of Blades in the Dark that would require the core book. Otherwise the Forged in the Dark license is extremely open so all the major products officially called Forged in the Dark I've seen are complete games unto themselves.

RPG CROWDFUNDING NEWS – Avatar Legends, Rise of the Drow, Blades in the Dark, and more

Oof, the US only nature of the Blade's in the Dark backerkit is a gut punch. I guess I'll try and scrounge it up at retail later.

Mass Layoffs At Polygon, Major Gaming News Outlet

The plain BBcode works :) emote I hate to say it, but I don't even really notice a difference at Polygon these days, for better or worse. The best round up on everything I saw was from their former sister site, the Verge...

Mass Layoffs At Polygon, Major Gaming News Outlet

I've lost count at how many video game news sites I've switch from due to closures/buy outs/etc. On the tabletop side, losing Dicebreaker hurt and it does sound like Charlie Hall got laid off with this one. In hindsight, it really makes me appreciate that EN World is still alive and well.

Mongoose Publishing Acquires Dark Conspiracy RPG

I've been happy with the Traveller books I've been picking up through them. No more errors/typos than a Wizards of the Coast product at least. I think they had some quality issues a few years back, before I started Traveller and well after the d20 boom/crash. They switched to releasing pdf...

Mongoose Publishing Acquires Dark Conspiracy RPG

Mongoose is really on a roll trying to recover all of the GDW properties. Good on them! I hope they reach out to Lester B. Smith, I get the impression that their interactions with Marc Miller have all been positive.

Wizards of the Coast's Archetype Entertainment to Publish Exodus TTRPG Based on Upcoming Exodus Video Game

Honestly, I don't think they're going to be any more bothered by Exodus being Traveller inspired then all the other Traveller inspired settings/games from Starfield to Battletech to Firefly. Battletech (from a former GDW licensee!) even took the 2d6 combat system and jump drive galaxy...

RPG Print News – Mongoose Publishing, Arc Dream Publishing, and More

Ditto, recieved it a while ago and thought it was released a few months back. The physical book is a gorgeous coffe table piece and I'm just as happy with it as with Shannon Applecline's other works.

Wizards of the Coast's Archetype Entertainment to Publish Exodus TTRPG Based on Upcoming Exodus Video Game

Thanks again for the recommendation. I'm half way through and enjoying it! Same here. I suspect it's because it's not going to be a 2025 title, which I'm also slightly disappointed at.

Wizards of the Coast's Archetype Entertainment to Publish Exodus TTRPG Based on Upcoming Exodus Video Game

Wrong with us. I'm going to blame Mass Effect nostalgia and an ongoing Traveller campaign in my case. Delighted to see that Travelers are part of the Exodus universe, they're not hiding their heritage!
