D&D (2024) 5e Aasimar are in the Players Handbook − what should the flavor be?

It's a shame we don't have law and chaos versions of aasimar and tieflings. Those planes as a whole have been ignored compared to the good and evil planes in DnD.

D&D (2024) What do people think of the new dragon designs?

I'm definitely not a fan of that silver design at all, especially the colours. I thought it was just a statue at first. While the new designs have far more variation of colour which makes the 'pop' more on the page.

D&D (2024) What do people think of the new dragon designs?

If you mention the s-word in a paleo focused area, it will inevitably devolve into people arguing for days on the topic.

Uh oh, you mentioned the cursed word...

D&D (2024) What do people think of the new dragon designs?

Looking at the red dragon, it seems that there is some design changes between the two. Not sure if it's just artist variation or intentional redesign.

Wait where did these get posted?

D&D (2024) What do people think of the new dragon designs?

We've only got detailed looks of those two so far. I'm worried that we will never get a similar look at the others with as much detail as this, as that looks more like artist reference art, rather than in book concept art.

D&D (2024) What do people think of the new dragon designs?

My 'ideal' dragons are the four limbed variants, as they conform to irl tetropod bodyplan. Dragons like those in GoT and Skyrim. I wouldn't want those in DnD though, as the 6 limbed design is just so iconic and established in DnD.

D&D (2024) What do people think of the new dragon designs?

That's the great part about dragons going from wrymling all the way to greatwyrm. A dragon for every occasion! (Even if I have to homebrew the greatwyrms as the official ones are just sad.)

D&D (2024) What do people think of the new dragon designs?

I've always been torn on what dragons should be most based off. I've seen arguments for snakes, lizards, dinosaurs, birds, cats, and even dogs. But I feel that monitor lizards come closest to the 'traditional western' dragon depiction. Though they're not technically snakes, they're grouped...

D&D (2024) What do people think of the new dragon designs?

So the titular monsters of Dungeons and Dragons are getting a full visual redesign! The dragons have had a consistent design since 3rd edition, so I was pretty shocked when I heard that they were being redone. However when I saw them I instantly loved them. More than ever before they feel like...

D&D (2024) 5e Aasimar are in the Players Handbook − what should the flavor be?

I'd like aasimar to have various options for subspecies and appearance, to mirror the tieflings. Options for basis on any of the three main upper planes, + the shadow based fallen aasimar. Apearancewise, they should be allowed a ton of variation. Bronze statue people, animal headed people with...

D&D (2024) Aasimar, Crafting Rules, and more in Gameinformer Magazine feature

I'd kind of like both tieflings and aasimar to have 4 options. One tied to each alignment (lawful good/evil, neutral good/evil, and chaotic good/evil). And then make a tiefling counterpart for the fallen aasimar. Some kind of fey based tiefling to mirror the shadow touched fallen aasimar.

I hope fallen aasimar stays available. It's the edgy players favorite!

    D&D (2024) What Should D&D 2024 Have Been +

My 'ideal' DnD was much closer to the original DnDNext playtests rather than what we got. Sadly things drift ever further from that over time.

    D&D (2024) What Should D&D 2024 Have Been +

I wonder if we'll ever get an artificer update. Or if it will be abandoned for good post 2024 edition.

    D&D (2024) What Should D&D 2024 Have Been +

In theory I don't mind 3-4 classes. As long as subclasses massively change the entire playstyle, and the builds are really customisable. But in practice, we'd be more likely to get 3-4 classes, with even less build choice and subclass impact than 5e on top of that. Leaving a huge chunk of...

    D&D (2024) WotC Fireside Chat: Revised 2024 Player’s Handbook

Making subclasses is easier said than done. It takes some pretty decent knowledge of game design to create something which fits with 5e and is balanced. Pretty much 99% of homebrew subclasses I see are either wildly unbalanced, ignore 5e design conventions, or use language which doesn't fit...
