Just a general reminder that whatever you thought of the original Radiant Citadel book, Taylor Navarro did not write it. She was a writer on a companion piece.
I think it's really exciting that WotC is hiring a lot of new folks with a variety of RPG publishing experience! I also notice that the...
I've fallen pretty hard away from superhero comics, but I'm a pretty consistent indie comic book reader. Some of my recent favorites have been:
John Muir: to the Heart of Solitude
A biography of John Muir, it made me want to drop everything and go hiking.
The Library Donkey of Cordoba...
There should definitely be a Batman RPG in which everyone plays as Batman but the different classes represent different versions of the character. One class is the Adam West campy Batman, another one is the Dark Knight grim and gritty Batman, psychedelic Grant Morrison Batman, etc.
In our long-running 5e game we used to do one-shot games for flash backs into characters' pasts. Everyone would roll up a new character to play members of a thieves guild or a dwarven clan and we'd fill out a little bit more of the world.
I love the Dunk & Egg stories, they're really fun adventures without quite as much of the horrors of Game of Thrones. Even though it's from the perspective of a young barely-a-knight, it's still got enough politics and intrigue to feel like a GoT book. Sir Duncan the Tall has a refreshing moral...
Would you be up for detailing how you are using Reaction Rolls and Morale in 5e? I'd be interested in reading it. (Maybe in a new thread if it warrants a good discussion.)
I literally haven't seen Phantom Menace since it was in theaters, but now thinking about the "Duel of Fates" I wonder where the heck it took place!
According to some quick research, the fight took place in a "plasma refinery."
You know, where they refine plasma.
As long as I have two players I will run a game! Usually if only two can make it I'll do a little side quest or flashback adventure. I can be really fun to have a small group for a one-shot.
Otherwise I will create a few powers that other players can use to represent the participation of the...
I am still a teacher! I taught elementary school in California for 9 years and now I'm teaching 3rd Grade in Atlanta.
Malls & Morons sounds really familiar but I can't quite remember if I participated in it!
I was Tsunami and then Breakstone on here, and I was Stuporhero on Nutkinland.
I do not currently but I have in the past! When I was in college I found some nearby Nutkinlanders who I played with sometimes.
Back when I was in high school I got ambitious and helped plan a Northern California Game Day for ENWorlders. It was fun! I was reminiscing and looking at the thread...
To me AI is like plastic. Yeah there are a lot of good uses for plastic but it's also incredibly harmful. When I purchase something I prioritize products with less plastic.
Because there are few ways to use LLMs for creative purposes that don't require theft, I would morally choose to not support any RPG products that use it.
I think the show is a pretty pointed commentary on alien viruses that connect almost all of humanity through an electromagnetic field.
But also the conflicting human needs for connection, individuality, comfort, novelty, desire, hope, etc.
