The only aspect that could be considered railroading is the inclusion of the Deck of Many Things without providing a means to deal with the consequences of the deck draws. Sealing off planar travel is a plot hook not railroading.

Dude you are just flat out wrong. The Glabrezu is a CR 9 and he has a +7 Wis saves. With MR that’s an average of +12 on a roll against 16-19. The monsters have been buffed. Magic Resistance and Auto Saves give me zero incentive to waste 6th level or higher spell slots on control spells.

They do have decent Wis saves for a lot of MR monsters. I am playing a 15th level sorcerer currently and I hardly ever bother with control spells. The mariliths we fought had a 8 wisdom save. Having MR equals roughly a 5 to the roll so that is a +13 save vs DC 19. The other sorcerer cast slow...

Not against creatures with magic resistance. A lot of the saves have been buffed. With MR they tend to have a decent chance. Plus legendary resistance makes control spells a joke.

That is not an issue with control spells. It’s an issue with PC’s being overpowered.

How is removing energy resistance making the problem worse? It’s better than creating new energy types that ignore the resistance.

I don’t know. I did not buy the FR books for Circle Casting. I bought them because they promised options for casters. I hope they deliver because I am sick of martials and multiclass martials dominating games.

I don’t doubt it and I don’t care. I want feats and spells that empower casters. They have really gotten the short end of the stick and I want change.

This is desperately needed. Martials are so unbalanced no. Thank goodness WOTC seems to finally be waking up and putting some bite back into casters.
