    Million Dollar TTRPG Kickstarter Club

After the Cypher 2 campaign ended they sent out a link to sign up to be notified for their next campaign. Looks like it’ll be an update to Numenera. Thaumaturge.

There's A New Edition Of The Cypher System Coming

The overtime mechanic on Backerkit is pretty great. Also, they can now at least round to $1mil. Thaumaturge.

There's A New Edition Of The Cypher System Coming

This matches my assessment. And I think it’s a good strategy—making your existing base happier and tweaking things to lure in those on the fence seems better than throwing out everything and hoping to make everyone happy. Thaumaturge.

There's A New Edition Of The Cypher System Coming

They’re keeping the core mechanic the same. But refining aspects like armor and damage. PCs will now have power trees where they can select from a menu of powers as they advance. There’s a pdf with a preview of the updates on the Backerkit. Thaumaturge.

There's A New Edition Of The Cypher System Coming

I think MCG knows that if they can get people to back, that all in pledge will get more and more tempting. Getting someone to increase their pledge is, perhaps, easier than getting someone to pledge at all. Thaumaturge.

There's A New Edition Of The Cypher System Coming

I appreciate reading your takes, as I haven’t at all kept up with how other RPGs crowdfunding efforts go over the years. MCG focusing on backer numbers for stretch goals messes with my ability to see how things are going, too. I understand why they do it, but I end up just focusing on how...

There's A New Edition Of The Cypher System Coming

What they are saying is that the character creation rules are the ones getting the big overhaul. The damage done by monsters requires a “one sentence instruction” to update. Charles Ryan said it takes “about five seconds” to update a monster. Then if the monsters are compatible, the...

There's A New Edition Of The Cypher System Coming

In my games I usually make the difficulty known ahead of time. The only times I don’t are when the PCs are experiencing high levels of confusion or obfuscation and I want to communicate those feelings to the players. Thaumaturge.

There's A New Edition Of The Cypher System Coming

Have you read any of the design emails? They have some good indications of the coming changes. For those who haven’t, one of the big changes will be a wound system instead of damage coming from ability pools. That ought to address one of the most common issues I see people talk about with the...

D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Core Rulebooks: 'We'll Still Be Working On Them In May'

I get that what you’re saying is technically true but releasing an adventure almost four years before the video game isn’t exactly a brilliant marketing ploy. Thaumaturge.

There weren’t big tie ins to either Baldur’s Gate 3 or the movie. I think they have disadvantage on opportunity attacks. Thaumaturge.

Over 1,500 Publishers Support Paizo's Upcoming Open RPG Creator's License

To really regain trust WotC needs to release the SRD under ORC. But that seems so unlikely as to be impossible. Thaumaturge.

D&D 5E (2024) Upcoming One D&D: Unearthed Arcana 'Expert' Classes (Bard, Ranger, Rogue)

I’m digging class groups. Between the way they’re handling feat prerequisites and spell lists, it really seems like it’ll be easier for them to add full classes in the future. Thaumaturge.
